I always thought I was pretty good with kids until McKay came along. It doesn't matter whose kids we are seeing, or even if they are from his or my side of the family, they flock to McKay like bugs to a light. I couldn't be happier about this and know that my little McKay will be the apple of our children's eyes, but seriously, am I that boring! I guess McKay is just that much more interesting! I'm a very lucky girl and I think he IS that much more interesting! He keeps me chirpy and laughing constantly.
Recently we visited McKay's closest relatives to us here in California for a birthday celebration. Most of McKay's cousins call him Uncle McKay because they are quite a bit younger than him.
The boys played ping pong...
The boys played ping pong...
(and had a pretty dang fun time doing so)
...while the girls sought McKay's attention. I, of course, was one of those anxious ladies trying to catch McKay's eye, but I was not the only one.
Little Aubrey made impressive efforts to draw McKay's attention away from the game.
She posed...
did ballet moves...
And even found a large club to make threats with.
Doesn't that just make you smile! She is adorable! At other visits when McKay was busy with something, or someone else, Aubrey would tug on McKay's arm and declare, "McKay! It's time to play with the children!"
...by children, I found out, she meant Aubrey.
The cousins other favorite thing to do with McKay is wrestle.
The littlest guy decided a good battle technique would be licking McKay's arm - Very impressive!
And I think they won.
Leaving is always the hardest part, which usually involves McKay distracting the kids while I keep the door open. This time, however, they learned a few new tricks - they attacked him, then blocked the door.
Eventually we got out, but there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth.
We love our little cousins!
