Following our wedding, McKay and I went straight on our honeymoon not wanting to waste any of McKay's precious, 60 days paid leave. As is expected after a relaxing five weeks, life came at us fast when we returned. Within a week and a half we somehow had to find an apartment in Southern California, drive back to Utah, pack up all our stuff, return to California and then move in before McKay reported into his new base. I'm happy to say that a major miracle occurred through the help of the many angels in our lives and we did make it back in time. As I started unpacking, however, I realized that there were a few things missing, which was our small price to pay for a hurried move.
A few months later I was planning a trip back to Utah to recover the items, but more importantly to visit some family and friends. As I was planning the logistics, I got a call from my brothers asking if we could take care of their cars while they left on a trip. I agreed to. "Great!" they said. "We should only be in Utah for a week or so." "Wait a minute," I said. "Why didn't you tell me you were going to Utah! I need to go to Utah too!" And so began our road trip...
HELLO UTAH!
It was so good to have my cousin, Mack-attack, back from China.
We visited Aunt Paula and Uncle Damian's new house.
Had to include this (This was not planned at all!)
Reunited the three musketeers.
Made homemade pasta,
wore it...
then ate it,
and made the obligatory stop to Nielsen's Frozen Custard. Yum!
We stayed a few extra days to attend the concert in Salt Lake City for Eli's roommate, Frankmusik.
He did a fabulous job and we especially loved the family time.
Later in the performance he brought his cute little fiancee up, Casey, and they brought down the house together!
After the concert we got one big ol' pizza at The Pie
I love Casey's face in this one.
Frankmusik and Casey were heading out to Cali on their tour anyways, so we made a party of it and they all piled into my van making for a super dooper road trip back. Yeehaw!
