Baby Bump

At only 6 months pregnant and just entering my third trimester, I often looked at McKay while holding my belly, and exclaimed, “I don’t know if there is anymore room in here!”  Apparently I was not the only one that wondered how I was going to last another 3 months, as I often receive comments from strangers like, “ You must be having your baby soon!” or “Are you sure you aren’t having twins?”  At 38 weeks now, I am relieved to say that our baby is still fitting in my belly and that I am feeling great!

I am so grateful for McKay who often takes me in his arms and reassures me that our baby will continue to fit in my already rotund belly and that I still look beautiful.  I knew there was a reason I married my man!  Besides my bump concerns, and a small bout of morning sickness, pregnancy has been a marvelous experience!  I have loved being pregnant and consider it a privilege and a miracle to be carrying this sweet little boy inside me.

While I continue to make this baby, McKay continues to keep busy gathering research for his dissertation with only 8 months left until he becomes Dr. Lieutenant McLaren.  His research has taken him to the Pentagon twice, out to bases in Texas and Ohio, and secured him a future trip to Belgium (with wife and baby!!!).  In his leisure time he works on carving his chess set and pampering his pregnant wife by taking her out to eat and giving her lots of massages.  What a good husband he is!

As I look back on McKay and my journey together and all its bumps along the way, I realize how close we have become to one another because of them and can only imagine that this "big bump" ahead will bring us closer than ever!  Can't wait to meet our little man!  We already love him more than words can express!
