I've always hated New Years resolutions and have very rarely made one, simply because they hardly ever work and for a majority of people their resolution is to lose weight. How uninspiring, right? In the supposedly unlucky year of 2013 I am making the New Years resolution of catching up on my blog and writing more regularly. Here's to hoping 2013 can be my lucky year!
To catch up thoroughly I have to go back to the summer and may even walk down memory lane with some posts from the far past - Those should be fun!
I feel as though our 2012 could be summed up with this post because Holy Matrimony, we went to a lot of weddings! Instead of blogging about each wedding individually I decided to do a wedding montage starting with Jordan and Nicole!
Jordan went to academy like McKay, so Jordan and Nicole did the crazy long engagement like us and got married a few days after graduation.
They are our new BFF's. Jordan is in the same program as McKay and they only live 5 blocks away from us, which is good because we are lost without our Jordan and Nicole time. We see them weekly, if not biweekly, or triweekly for dinners, board gaming, and most recently, woodcarving for boys and crocheting for girls.
Next up is my cousin Preston and his lovely Courtney!
They got married the beginning of July. We were so happy that Courtney is from LA, otherwise we may not have been able to attend their wedding. We felt doubly privileged to attend Courtney's endowment.
And here they are fresh off the marriage wagon!
I just had to share this one event, which happens to be a lot tragic, just because I love this kid and he is so darn cute. In all the excitement of waiting for Preston and Courtney to come out of the temple James tripped and hit his head, leaving a pretty good sized gash. Luckily, we had a doctor, and even more luckily a lady had some super glue in her car. As this was originally the purpose for super glue, we super glued the cut, gave him some bubbles and within minutes a potential scarring and time consuming visit to the ER was averted.
What a joy it was on this day to have all my closest cousins at "our" temple in celebration of this long awaited marriage!
The wedding party was beautiful!
These are my favorite pictures of the wedding.
The reception was at Courtney's house and was absolutely stunning!
The little angel flower girls!
The next four weddings I either did the flowers for or played the harp at, or both, and I loved every minute of it! I even had my special little helper for some of them.
I love flower markets! I could spend 4 hours looking around, which I have often done.
I had lots of other helpers too.
Ready to go with all the goods!
The lovely Lance and Annie
All the Harpies!
Annie wore her mother's dress and veil and they were absolutely exquisite!
Here are some more details from the wedding.
Kevin and Tiffany
Kevin is a good friend of McKay's at work and I know Tiffany well. Their wedding was at the regal Casa del Mar hotel which is right along the beach front. It was an interesting and slightly challenging playing atmosphere with sea air blowing my pages and loud beach-goers passing by, but beautiful none the less!
McKay's best friend from the academy, Nate, got married in the fall. He and his wife, Kat went to ring dance with us (on their first date I might add) and were one of our best sushi friends. I loved doing the flowers for this wedding!
I also loved going back to visit the academy. We didn't think we would see this place again for many years. I was just grateful that I didn't have to leave McKay here and fly home by myself!
I also did the flowers for this last wedding of my close friend from church and fellow advisor in the Young Women's program at church.
Elisonet's ceremony was on October 31st and sure beat anything that we could have done on Halloween. It was so sweet and beautiful, just like her!
Nothing beats a Latino wedding! This was before the party started and once it did it was a par-tay! McKay loves this little girl and always steals her during church. She was born with a head of hair fuller than mine and she is completely precious!
Thus ends the smorgasbord of wedding bliss in 2012!
More of 2012 on its way! (Must keep my New Years resolution!!!)
I love love! What a wonderfully happy post! XO MIss you, M!
